How to Keep Your Smile on Track This Summer

Summer brings a change of pace—whether that means a break from school, vacation plans, or simply enjoying a more relaxed daily routine. Even with these changes, your orthodontic treatment continues moving forward. Whether you're in braces, Invisalign®, or part of our observation program, staying consistent with a few key habits can help keep your smile progress right on track.

Here are a few easy ways to keep your treatment moving forward all summer long:

✅ Don’t Miss Your Appointments

With vacations and camps filling up your calendar, it's easy to lose track of your orthodontic check-ins. Be sure to keep your scheduled appointments—or let us know early if you need to reschedule. Each visit helps us monitor your progress and make timely adjustments.

✅ Stick with Elastics or Aligner Wear

If you’ve been instructed to wear elastics or Invisalign® aligners, consistency is key. Set daily reminders, pack extras when you're on the go, and aim for the same wear time each day—just like during the school year. Skipping a few days can set your progress back.

✅ Recommit to Brushing and Flossing

Late bedtimes, extra snacking, and travel can throw off your hygiene routine. Make brushing and flossing a non-negotiable part of your day—especially after sweets and sticky summer treats. Your future smile will thank you.

✅ Keep an Eye on Smile Changes (for Observation Patients)

If you're in our observation program, summer is a great time to notice new tooth movement, changes in bite, or baby teeth that are ready to go. Let us know if anything new pops up between visits—we're here to guide you.

✅ We’re Here If You Need Us

Broken bracket? Aligner feels off? Questions about treatment? Even during summer, we’re just a call or message away. Don’t wait for your next appointment if something doesn’t feel right.

A little consistency goes a long way—so enjoy your summer and stay on track with your smile goals. You've got this!
