The American Association of Orthodontists recommends children have their first orthodontic evaluation around age 7. At this age, Dr. Cline can evaluate how your child’s teeth, bite and jaws are developing, even if all of their permanent teeth haven’t come in yet.

Why Should My Child See an Orthodontist by Age 7?
An early orthodontic screening gives Dr. Matt Cline an opportunity to identify developing concerns while your child is still growing.
During your child’s complimentary evaluation, we’ll look at:
Crowding and spacing
Bite development
Jaw growth
Tooth eruption and development
An early screening doesn’t mean your child will need treatment right away. If everything is developing normally, we’ll let you know. If your child isn’t ready for treatment, Dr. Cline may simply recommend monitoring their growth and development over time.
